In a world first, the Tonga Broadcasting Commission (TBC) has used Datavideo
Working with TonFon (Pay TV) and TVNZ, the Tonga Broadcasting Commission used the Datavideo vision mixers, two audio mixers and ten Sony Betacam SP, Sony DV-CAM and Hitachi Z-ONE cameras. TVNZ provided microwave links from three locations including the Royal Palace, the Church of Tonga and the Royal Tomb. TVNZ also provided the satellite uplink to New Zealand.
Sioeli Tohi, Chief Engineer at Tonga Broadcasting Commission said that the Datavideo SE-500 and SE-800 vision mixers “are cost effective tools and are perfect for live broadcasts in small countries such as Tonga”.
Designed for television and live event customers, the four channel digital / analogue vision switcher Datavideo SE-800 vision mixer can mix Component, DV, S-Video and Composite video streams simultaneously. The SE-800 is the ideal for multi-camera television production, live events and conferences.

The four channel analogue vision switcher can mix Composite and S-Video simultaneously and offers two microphone inputs, colour correction, digital video transition effects, a MIDI control interface and RS-232 remote control interface.
