SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – December 5th, 2007 – Lan 1 today announced the introduction of the ZyXEL ZyWALL 5-H 3G capable router to the Australian market. This introduction will for the first time offer resellers the ability to provide customers with a small business router that supports 3G USB modems from all major carriers.

ZyWALL 5-H provides users even more convenient Internet access with 3G service and WLAN service to eliminate the limitation of the wired network and extends the last-mile service wirelessly. The solution can apply Backup WAN and Load Balancing features to various applications while offering more mobility with Wi-Fi connectivity. Should a DSL or other broadband service fail, the ZyWALL 5-H will automatically fall over to the 3G service enabling uninterrupted connectivity. Alternatively, load balancing can be undertaken across multiple broadband services connected to the 5-H, sharing the bandwidth load and reducing strain on network infrastructure. The ZyWALL also provides the added protection of gateway unified threat management and content filtering.

Mark Roberts, Networking Product Manager at Lan 1 today said “Wireless 3G is becoming somewhat affordable for the SMB market. With the ZyWALL 5-H is priced at a mere $410RRP and monthly 3G plans starting from just $29 including 1Gb of data, we see Australian small businesses provided with enterprise class features and reliability previously unheard of in the market.”
